Hello fellow Stokies,
Nicky Twemlow here with a few exciting updates!

Dwain and his lovely wife, Diane, have just returned from an incredible three weeks in Australia. Now back on home turf, Dwain is ready to dive into some exciting new initiatives for March. Watch this space, there’s plenty more to come!
What a Year to Be Made in Stoke!
We’re in full swing celebrating Stoke-on-Trent’s Centenary Year! There’s so much happening in the city. Want to get involved?
Check out everything going on at sot100.org.uk or drop us a message to find out how you can be part of the celebrations.
We’re thrilled to see more businesses joining us to support young people, and we’re excited about:
- Hosting a Centenary Event for Stokies in London
- Inviting you all to the Big Centenary Tea Party
- Launching the Speakers in Schools initiative
We’ve also seen some amazing acts of kindness already this year, with Stokies funding trips for young people to Canada and Glastonbury, contributing to the Community Fund, and strengthening connections across our city.
If you fancy a chat about how you can support Stoke, reach out, I’d love to hear from you! 🙂
Let’s Celebrate SOT100! 🥳

We’re proud to have launched the Centenary Pot for community groups, working alongside the Community Foundation for Staffordshire & Shropshire, Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Stoke Creates, and a generous donor. Together, we’ve pulled together a fantastic £70,000 grants fund for local communities to host their own events throughout this special year.
We can’t wait to see the incredible projects this will support and share the amazing impact it will have on our city!
Beacon Collaborative Impact Forum

I was honoured to represent Made in Stoke at the Beacon Collaborative Impact Forum at the Guild Hall in London, diving deep into how place-based philanthropy is driving real change in our communities.
We discussed:
🔹 Connecting People to Giving – Platforms like Made in Stoke help match donors, businesses, and volunteers with local causes.
🔹 It’s Not Just About Money – Time, skills, and expertise are just as valuable.
🔹 Building Stronger Infrastructure – Donors want to give, but we need better networks to make it easier.
🔹 A New Culture of Giving – The next generation is ready to give back—let’s empower them!
🔹 The Role of Government – Policies like match funding can help scale community impact.
It was inspiring to be part of a conversation that highlights how powerful local action can be. Big thanks to Owen James and the Beacon Collaborative for hosting an amazing event!
